It gives 21rozendaal great
pleasure to announce Bruno Peinado’s first exhibition in the Netherlands.
The chameleon-like Bruno Peinado (Douarnenez, France, 1970) constantly
draws from diverse (sub-)cultures and styles such as gothic (chic), disco,
trash punk, science fiction, graffiti, minimalism, design, high fashion,
skate- and surf-culture and tropicalism. Bruno Peinado rejects concepts
like ‘new’, ’originality’ and ‘purity’ and instead offers a lavish, globalized
eclecticism. His work ranges from drawings to installations, sculptures,
ready-mades, tapestries, neon works, murals, and posters. The mirror, both
as form and as concept, regularly appears. The exhibition mixes together
in an overall picture work dating from 1993 up to today.
Opening:
Saturday 16 May 2009
at 3:30 p.m.
The exhibition will be
opened by Robbert Roos, the head-curator of the
Amersfoort art hall KAdE and former editor in chief of Kunstbeeld magazine.
